I wrote this poem on March 30, 2007 – the day before I came into the Reformers Unanimous Men’s School of Discipleship in Rockford, Il. It is a true reflection of how I feel much of the time. It is called “Wandering.”
Wandering in my wilderness,
Bearing my own strife,
Searching, ever searching for,
A draught of Spirit-life,
To gain a Breath from heaven,
My lone desire here,
I long to know my Savior,
To feel His presence near.
Wanting to know my Savior,
I kneel to Him and pray,
“Dear Father, draw me nearer,
Show what blocks the way!”
Then sins, He shows me many,
And breaks my prideful heart,
Revealing IT as the one from whence,
All sin has its start.
